Anointing of the sick

Please do not wait for the last minute to ask for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

The Anointing of the Sick is not only for those who are at the point of death but it can also be administered to those who are gravely or terminally ill, or those who will undergo a major operation or any major medical procedure to give them comfort, strength and peace of mind.

If your loved one is confined to a hospital, please ask the nurse for a Catholic priest-chaplain. All major hospitals have an assigned Catholic priest-chaplain. If the hospital cannot provide one, please call the Parish Office.

If your loved one is at home, please call the office and leave your name, address, and contact number.

Anointing of The Sick 1O1

Federal Privacy Regulation - HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act), prohibits all hospitals from informing churches of a patience's presence unless the patient gives permission for the hospital to do so.

If you are admitted to a hospital and would like a member of the clergy or a caregiver to visit you, please ask for a Catholic Chaplain at the hospital. If the hospital cannot provide you a Catholic Chaplain please call the Parish Office. You may be visited by a pastoral care member from the area not necessarily from Saint Therese Parish.
